PVT

Private
After enlistment papers have been filed out, the new member ceases to be a civilian and becomes a Private, taking their first steps into becoming a soldier and brother of the Unit.
1 PV2 Private Second Class

The Private Secon Class or PV2, is the first step into the 173rd as a soldier and true member, they are as green as their uniforms and have yet to learn what it means to be a soldier of the Company. PV2's also select their DMOS and begin perfecting themselves in them.

To become a Private Second Class a soldier has to achieve the following:

► Compleated OSUT (BCT and AIT)

► Personal file completed

PFC

Private First Class

The Private Frist Class also known as PFC is an experienced member of the Squad, having advanced his skils both in Squad and DMOS dutties, they are battle proven members, showing proficiency and determination in all they do.

To become a Private First Class a soldier has to achieve the following:

► One Month Time in Grade as a PV2

► Contributions in DMOS and Squad Duties

► Contributions in the Forum

► No significant lapse in activity

1 SPC/4 Specialist 4

The Specialist 4 is a senior and experianced member of the Unit, showing exlance both in and out of the field, having master their DMOS and shown that they are capable soldier. A SPC/4 is truly an example to the men and stives in exelance in all he does.

To become a Private First Class a soldier has to achieve the following:

► 2 (Two) Months Time in Grade as a PFC

► Completed Jump School, also known as getting their "Wings"

► Significant Contributions in DMOS and Squad Duties

► Significant Contributions in the Forum

► No lapse in activity

SPC/5

Specialist 5

The Specialist 5 is the most senior enlisted member in the Unit, being a true master at all they do. They are not just a core member of the Unit but are an example to the men and someone all wish to become. Thus it is only given on special recommendation

To become a Specialist 5 a soldier has to achieve the following:

► 3 (Three) Months Time in Grade as a SPC/4

► Shows excellence in DMOS and Section Duties

► Recommendation from Squad Leader and Staff

► Special apointment by the CO of the Company


NON-COMMISSIONED OFFICERS

CPL

Corporal
The Corporal is the entry Staff position, to be a CPL is to be a leader of men, a true example of character and a role model for his men. They form the backbone of the Unit, commonly acting as Squad 2nd in-commands.

To become a Corporal a soldier has to achieve the following:

► 1 Month Time in Service

► Completion of the Corporals Examination (Or selected to attend)

► Ability to write Squad Reports

► Vital part in DMOS and Section Duties

► Ability to conduct trainings single handedly

► Selected as Squad 2IC or IC

► Recommendation from Squad Leader and Staff

SGT

Sergeant

The Sergeant is the life blood of the Company, serving as Squad Leaders or in some cases other duties, they are the chief training personnel and act as "Fathers" to their men, drawing upon their vast experience to mold their men, induct new members and hone old ones.

To become a Sergeant a soldier has to achieve the following:

► 2 (Two) Months Time in Grade as a CPL

► Completion of the Sergeants Examination (Or selected to attend)

► Demonstrated success as a Squad or Team Leader

► Vital part in DMOS and Section Duties

► Ability to assist the Platoon Sergeant when needed

SSG

Staff Sergeant

The Staff Sergeant is a senior member of the Staff, serving as Squad Leaders and Platoon Sergeants. They truly experienced NCOs, serving as senior Sergeants in the Platoon.

To become a Staff Sergeant a soldier has to achieve the following:

► 3 (Three) Months Time in Grade as a SGT

► Demonstrated success as a Squad Leader or Platoon Sergeant

► Vital part in DMOS and Section Duties

► Ability to assist the Platoon Sergeant when needed

► Recommendation from Command Staff
